Appeal after Conisbrough sex assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an alleged sexual assault on a 45-year-old woman near a train station.

The woman was approached by a man near Conisbrough train station just off Doncaster Road at around 12.45pm on Wednesday, May 14.

A police spokewoman said: “The man was on a bicycle and is believed to have told the woman she had dropped something on the floor.

“The woman retraced her steps back to a footpath, when the man who was on the bike is then alleged to have grabbed her from behind and pulled her onto wasteland off the footpath.

“The woman managed to break free and the man kicked and hit her in the back before running off.”

The man is described as white, approximately 6ft 3ins tall and of a slim build.

He was wearing a black and red motorcycle helmet that he did not remove.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 458 of  May 14.
