Another nightmare on our roads

Sir, Please allow me, through your columns, to congratulate Rotherham Borough Council on yet another ill conceived traffic scheme.

Having already inflicted a one-way system on Terrace Road and a no left turn at Greasbrough Road in Parkgate, the powers that be, in their wisdom have now decided to get rid of the only car park within easy reach of Ashwood Road Junior and Infants school.

Would it not have been in the better interests of all concerned to have enforced roadside parking restrictions in the vicinity of the school, and encouraged parents to use the car park?

Thank you so much for making life a nightmare for local residents.
