Actor Dean Sills gives away copies of his new DVD

DEARNE actor Dean Sills is celebrating the launch of his new DVD by giving away some freebies to our readers.

Dean’s comedy Up North, which was screened on cable channel Essex TV, reached an audience of 100,000 viewers was voted one of the channel’s top five shows of 2016.

Now you can get hold of a copy of the show — which featured comedy legend Bernie Clifton alongside Bolton on Dearne lad Dean — on DVD via Amazon.

“2016 was an amazing year with some really great locations, including Barnsley Football Club along with an awesome cast including Carley Motley and Kuljit Singh,” said Dean.

“Steve Call, the director, and I have worked hard to get the first series done and now Essex TV are in talks with us regarding a second series.

“Steve and I are both producers on the show — he is the one who does all the hard work editing each episode and I have the easy part writing it, which is so much fun.

“I love writing Up North and taking all these silly characters on crazy adventures.

“I already have storylines for a second series so fingers crossed we get the go-ahead to start filming in May.”

It’s not Dean’s only release of 2017, as his short horror film The Railway Carriage will be out later in the year.

We have two copies of the Up North DVD to give away.
