£3.5m bid to revamp High Street landmarks
The former Muntus department store at 22-30 High Street, currently occupied by the SNAFU rock bar, is to have a missing corner turret and special features on its facade replaced.
There are oplans to restore the RSPCA shop at 14a High Street and convert the upper floors into apartments.

Hide AdAnd a planning application has been submitted for the restoration of numbers 10 to 12, the Caprice clothing store, which dates from the 1950s.
At the top of the High Street, work is set to begin on the Art Deco Essoldo Chambers this month.
The former Empire Cinema is now home to a nightclub and Italian restaurant and the faded façade will be restored.

The money comes from the £3.5 million Townscape Heritage Initiativem, which is being supported by funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Rotherham Borough Council.
