ONE of the borough’s most spectacular stately homes has been sold for £350,000, according to members of a group set up to save it from dereliction.

Firbeck Hall was put up for sale last month after its owners of more than a decade, Chesterfield-based Cambs Construction, fell into liquidation.

Hide AdThe former haunt of Royalty and Hollywood film stars, during its 1930’s heyday as a high-class country club, had been allowed to fall into dereliction.
Members of the The Friends of Firbeck Hall group say that they understand that the building’s sale was completed last week.
One member said: “This could be the start of a new chapter for the hall. I truly hope it is.”
