£100,000 bridleway boost
WALKERS and cyclists will benefit from a new bridleway between East Herringthorpe and Dalton, say planners.
The route between Dalton Lane and Magna Lane will cost £90,000 with a new bridge over Dalton Brook costing about £10,000.
Rotherham Borough Council transportation planner Andrew Shearer said the new route would improve access to facilities including a GP surgery, schools, leisure facilities and Dalton playing fields.
It would also help encourage cycling and help to cut vehicle emissions.
