VIDEO: Flashmob wedding proposal

LOVE was in the air on Saturday as one brave boyfriend took over a busy city centre to propose to his long-term girlfriend with the help of a few friends and strangers.

Christopher Wood (32), of Swallownest, wanted to make his marriage proposal extra special and created a flashmob dance routine to ask for care assistant Laura Betts’s hand in marriage.

It was a complete surprise for 28-year-old Laura who thought she was just out on a shopping trip to Sheffield with her mum and sister.

But little did she know, Christopher had spent nearly 12 weeks secretly getting dancers together, perfecting a routine, having a six-minute record mixed and gaining council permission to hold the flashmob proposal.

Watch the video here and see Christopher (in a  pink shirt and tie) calmly greet his friends before the big event and hide in the background before making his grand entrance.
