Van stolen and stripped bare by thieves

A STOLEN van was found stripped bare by police officers.

The Ford Transit, which was stolen in early July from Worsborough in Barnsley, was discovered near Talbot Road in Swinton on Tuesday.

Police believe that the vehicle had been stored and stripped of its engine, transmission, lights, seats, dashboard, side door and other internal panels.

There have also been reports to police of vehicle chassis and parts being dumped in areas including Abdey Lane in Wath, Back Lane in Rawmarsh, Linthwaite Lane in Wentworth, Firsby Lane and Firsby Reservoir in Hooton Roberts and other locations throughout north Rotherham.
