Two in court on Wombwell murder charge
TWO people charged with the murder of a Wombwell man have appeared in court.
Ian Birley (43) and Helen Nichols (38) — both of Mont Walk, Wombwell — faced magistrates in Barnsley yesterday (Monday).
They are accused of killing John Gogarty, who was found dead at a Marsh Street house on Friday, July 17.
Both were remanded into custody, to appear again at Sheffield Crown Court on August 10.
