Tropical Butterfly House is one of Yorkshire’s best

A TOP wildlife and falconry centre has been selected as a finalist for one of Yorkshire’s most prestigious tourism awards.

The Tropical Butterfly House in North Anston has been announced as a finalist in the large visitor attraction category in the White Rose Award. 

The awards are the UK's largest celebration of tourism in the UK and cover 17 categories, from the best Yorkshire pub to outstanding customer service.

Louise Larcombe, marketing manager at the Butterfly House said all of the staff were thrilled to have made it to the final.

Louise added: “We are all passionate about the wildlife centre and do our very best to make sure visitors have a great day and that the animals we care for are happy; it’s lovely to receive recognition for our efforts.”

More than 100 businesses have made the shortlist in the White Rose Awards, which celebrate the best of tourism in Yorkshire. 

Colin Mellors, chair of the White Rose Award judges, said: “Yorkshire’s tourism is a remarkable sector with fantastic hospitality, facilities and produce on offer.

“Those shortlisted should feel very proud to have been selected against such strong competition.”

Winners of the awards will be made aware in November.
