Roundabout roadworks set to take nine months

MOTORISTS are being warned that a major road improvement scheme begins in Rotherham this weekend.

Delays are to be expected on the A630 Centenary Way as works begin on Sunday to the £5 million scheme to change the Masbrough roundabout into a traffic-light controlled crossroads junction.

The scheme will take nine months and result in the current subways under Centenary Way being replaced with pedestrian crossings.

During the works, traffic will be travel in both directions along Centenary Way - but on only one lane in each direction.

Traffic will also be allowed to turn off Centenary Way into both Masbrough and Main Streets.

However, drivers are being warned there will be no access onto Centenary Way from both Masbrough and Main Streets and there will be no access across the junction.
