Have your say on Rotherham transport

PUBLIC transport users are being encouraged to have their say on the region’s services at a series of drop-in events.

The South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) is reminding passengers to comment on the county’s public transport services as part of the Have Your Say events.

People can give their opinion on how concessionary travel, supported bus services and travel information could be provided in the future online at sypte.co.uk/haveyoursay until October 4, or via a paper copy available at customer service desks at Interchanges.

Have Your Say representatives will also be at roadshows at:

Doncaster Interchange on September 25, from 8am to 11.30am.

Meadowhall Interchange on September 29, from 3pm to 5.30pm.

Dinnington Mini Interchange on October 1, from 8am to 10.30am.

Hillsborough Mini Interchange on October 2, from 8am to 10.30am.

An SYPTE spokesman said: “By giving the community of South Yorkshire the chance to offer their views on public transport services, SYPTE can make sure that the organisation is spending money in the correct places and that any changes that may need to be made are right for customers.

“The findings of the consultation will inform SYPTE's policy setting and budget decision making for 2016/17.”

Over the last five years, savings made by the SYPTE have seen the workforce reduced by 48 per cent and the budget cut by 35 per cent.
