Teenager Jessica sacrifices locks in honour of cancer battler Fiona

Kind-hearted teenager Jessica Hempshall sacrificed her long locks to the big snip and raised £450 in honour of a friend who successfully battled cancer.

Jessica, who donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust three years ago — just hours after picking up her GCSE results — performed a repeat of the charity challenge after meeting fellow Peter Andre fan Fiona Codd (22), from Birmingham, when they were waiting in line to meet him in Rotherham.

Fiona underwent treatment for leukaemia but has been in remission for two years.

Jessica (19) said her friend was the inspiration behind her latest donation of three 12-inch plaits to the trust, which makes wigs for young cancer patients.

The big chop — which took place at the Aspirations salon at Dearne Valley College, where Jessica, from Wath, studied catering — also brought in £450 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

With two donations down, Jessica — who has been growing her hair since the last charirty cut — is keen to make it three in the future — once her hair grows back.
