Tata Steel invests in apprentice training centre

TATA Steel will open its state-of-the-art training centre in Stocksbridge this week.

The centre, was due to open today will provide a bespoke training programme for apprentices.

MP Angela Smith, Master Cutler Pamela Liversidge and leader of Sheffield City Council Julie Dore will be among those attending.

Mick Hood, HR director for Tata Steel, said: “Tata Steel is committed to investing in the long-term sustainability of the business and for that we need to train the next generation of engineers with specialist electrical and mechanical skills.”
