Swinton teenager Ben wins top singing contest

DELIGHTED Ben Hague is all set for singing stardom after winning a national contest by just three votes out of almost 30,000.

The 19-year-old from Swinton defeated main rival Ryan Taylor by 12,858 votes to 12,855 in the final of the Break Into competition run by careers company Monster.

After scooping the first prize thanks to his video performance of Chris Brown’s song Crawl, the former Wath Comprehensive student can now look forward to working on his talent with music industry experts.

On top of the title of champion, Ben has landed an artist development deal and the prospect of a professional recording contract.
