Suspect package was false alarm
FIRE crews and police were called out to a business premises in Wombwell on Friday afternoon after a suspect package was discovered.
Emergency services were called to Fresh-Pak Chilled Foods Ltd at Waterside Park on Valley Way in the early afternoon and were there for about an hour.
Investigations revealed that the package posed no danger.
A South Yorkshire Fire Service spokesman said: “If there are a lot of fire engines there it may not mean it’s something really big and terrifying.
“We have a standard response to incidents like this.”
