Super leap for charity by Tesco staff

SUPERMARKET staff Suzanne Nettleton and Gill Symons will take the leap of faith later this month to raise cash for charity.

Suzanne (49) and Gill (53), who both work at Tesco’s Wath store, are aiming to raise around £1,000 for the supermarket giant’s two charities Diabetes UK and British Heart Foundation when they take on a charity skydive in Lincoln.

But they are not alone in their fundraising efforts, colleague Tracey Taylor (45) will be lacing up her running shoes and taking on the London Marathon for the same two charities.

Suzanne said: “Although Diabetes UK and British Heart Foundation are Tesco’s chosen charities this year, they are also quite personal to me and Gill as well.

“My mum had a heart attack at Christmas in 2014 and dad is diabetic. Gill’s dad had a heart attack and her daughter has been diagnosed as type-one diabetic so we wanted to do it for our own reasons as well.”

The duo will take to the skies on Sunday, April 24 - the same day as colleague Tracey is hoping to raise £2,000 by completing the London Marathon.

Suzanne said: “I don’t know how yes came out of my mouth when they asked me but it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“I am going to be 50 at Christmas and it’s on my bucket list so I thought why not.

“I am nervous but I’m looking forward to it to be honest and it’s all for a good cause.”
