Sunlight causes window frame to scorch

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a home after the heat from the early morning sun caused a window frame to scorch.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said sunlight reflecting off chrome handles caused the window frame of a home on Avocet Close, Mexborough, to scorch.

He added a crew from Dearne station was called to the property at 8.30am on Sunday but did not have to take any action.
