Students cook up Fairtrade feast

CATERING students will cook up a five-course feast at their newly-revamped restaurant for the annual Fairtrade Charity Dinner.

Entertainment will include magic and music as the night raises money for the Mayor of Rotherham’s charity funds and international cause Coffee Kids.

This year’s event is slightly later than usual as organisers waited for Rotherham College’s refurbished Wharncliffe Restaurant to be fully operational.

Rotherham Fairtrade Group chairman Ken Wyatt said: “In addition to raising awareness of the principals of the Fairtrade Foundation we shall be seeking to raise funds for very worthy causes.

“I am delighted that once again the Rotherham Fairtrade Group are teaming up with our great friends at Rotherham College to organise the dinner.

“It’s an amazing venue, which has not been fully rebuilt. Please come along to support our students and our excellent charities.”

It takes place on Thursday, April 10, starting at 6.30pm. Tickets priced £20 are available from the Town Hall, by emailing [email protected] or calling 01709 822722.
