Stars take to the stage for charity

THE STARS@LAST Variety Show returns to Rotherham Civic Theatre on September 22 at 7.15pm for a third year after two previous sell-outs.

The new show promises to be bigger and better than ever with a superb line-up of professional acts, supported by some of Rotherham’s finest youth performers.

Young entertainers from Rotherham dance and theatre groups including Gillian Banks, Janet Mitchell and Rotherham Teachers’ Student Academy will perform lavish, fully costumed and choreographed displays of their talent.

Glittering extracts from popular musical shows are also featured, and hosting all the proceedings once again is Sheffield comedian Wayne Biggin.

Wayne (pictured) was a huge hit with the audience last year with his hilarious brand of humour so the theatre will be rocking with laughter.

Organiser and SAFE@LAST trustee Christine Ayres said: “STARS@LAST has a very full programme of top class entertainment from circus acts and magic to live bands and singers. There’s something for everyone.

“Thanks to sponsorship from Rotherham Council and B&B Press I’m hoping we’ll raise a record sum this year for SAFE@LAST.

“The charity’s work is very important in the fight to keep vulnerable children safe from the dangers of running away, and it’s great to know every act on STARS@LAST is giving their time and talents freely.”

Tickets priced at £10 are on sale now from Rotherham Theatres box office on 01709 823621 / 01709 823640.
