Starring role for Rotherham burlesque performer Miss Amber

BURLESQUE star Amber Topaz from Rotherham is starring in a dazzling new musical celebrating love, scandals and show business in the 1940s.

The show has its premiere at the Lowry Theatre, Salford, later this month before transferring to London’s King’s Head Theatre.  

Miss Nightingale, the musical by Sheffield composer Matthew Bugg, combines emotionally charged songs with powerful drama and burlesque-style performance.

Leading lady is internationally acclaimed Amber, who grew up in Rotherham, where she trained in dance from a young age.  

She moved to London after winning a place at drama school and started her career in West End musicals including Les Miserables), before razzle-dazzling her way to international burlesque stardom and enchanting audiences with her showgirl splendour. 

In 2008 she had the unique honour of being chosen to represent Britain in Las Vegas’ legendary Miss Exotic World Burlesque Hall of Fame.

This daring new musical features 15 original songs and stars Ilan Goodman, Emmerdale’s Richard Shelton.

The show runs at The Lowry, Salford, from Thursday to Saturday (evenings 8pm, Saturday matinee 2pm) and the King’s Head Theatre, London (Wednesday January 26- Saturday February 19 at 10pm).
