Spring clean for Rotherham

LITTER-pickers were out in force across the borough for the launch of the Great British Spring Clean.

Sponsors McDonald’s led groups from its branches in Rotherham town centre, Dalton, Parkgate, Canklow and Bramley last Thursday (24).

Schools, volunteers, businesses and groups are involved in Keep It Tidy’s campaign, which runs until April 10.

Cllr Dominic Beck, Rotherham Council cabinet member for environment, said: “The council’s vision is to create a clean and welcoming environment across our borough, and in turn secure our natural environment for the next generation.

“Spring Clean encourages people to help towards that goal here in Rotherham and across Great Britain. That’s why we’re getting out and encouraging others to do the same.”
