Spate of suspicious fires at Maltby

POLICE are investigating after three suspicious fires in Maltby involving several vehicles, two mobile homes and a house.

The first was at 2.30am when a portable cabin was set alight on Blyth Road. The blaze spread to three vehicles.

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue confirmed it had been started deliberately and police are examining CCTV.

Fifteen minutes later, crews were called to Millicent Square after a campervan fire spread to a house.

Firefighters spent 90 minutes cooling two propane tanks but no-one was hurt. The cause is under investigation.

Later, at 4.30am, a caravan parked on a driveway on Mortimer Road was deliberately torched.

A fire service spokesman asked anyone with information about the incidents to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
