Shopkeeper stabbed during armed robbery

A LONE shop worker has been stabbed during an armed robbery in which two men stole cash from a till.

The men, both carrying knives, entered The Fairway Convenience Store, Borrowdale Crescent, Dinnington, at around 9pm yesterday (February 19).

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said the men threatened the shopkeeper with a knife before stealing cash from the till.

She added: “Before leaving one of the offenders stabbed the shopkeeper causing injuries to his head and body. 

“His injuries are not life threatening.”

One is described as 6ft tall, wearing a grey hooded top with a red or yellow top underneath. 

The other male was around 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a dark blue hoodie pulled tightly over his face.  

Officers believe that the men left the scene in a silver Mazda that is believed to have been stolen during a recent burglary.
