Sheds damaged in allotment blaze

AN INVESTIGATION has been launched into the cause of a blaze at an allotments site.

Fire crews from two stations were called to the site on Westmorland Lane, Denaby Main, at 11.30pm on Saturday night.

They were at the scene for a couple of hours and it is understood that sheds were damaged in the incident.

Meanwhile, a hedge was deliberately set alight early on Sunday morning.

A fire crew from Aston was called to the incident on Gray Avenue, Aughton, at 2.10am and spent ten minutes at the scene.

A tree and rubbish were also deliberately torched on North Road, East Dene, on Sunday.

A fire crew was called at 11.45pm and spent half an hour at the scene.

Arsonists torched a Peugeot 206 in Maltby in the early hours of Monday.

They were called at 5am to deal with the blaze on Highfield Park.

A fire service spokesman said the fire was started deliberately.
