Royal VIP set for Rotherham visit

ROTHERHAM will welcome its third royal visitor in six months next week when the Countess of Wessex drops by to cut the ribbon at a children’s hospice.

HRH Countess of Wessex, the wife of Prince Edward, will do the honours at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in North Anston next Thursday.

She will also take a tour of the United Multicultural Centre in St Ann’s, Sandvik Engineering near Orgreave and the Matrix Business Centre at Dinnington.

The latest royal visit comes after The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were guests of honour at the ground-breaking Advanced Manufacturing Nuclear Research Centre at Catcliffe last November.

Rotherham’s next royal visit will come in July when the Duke of Kent visits expanding metals firm MTL and recycling company Sterecycle.
