Rotherham's Big Sleepout raises £21,000

A SLEEPOUT in aid of a children’s charity has raised more than £21,000 to help young people.

Supporters of SAFE@LAST gathered together last week to announce that the BIG Sleepout, which took place in October last year, beat all expectations and raised £21,337.49.

Hundreds of supporters slept rough for the night at Parkgate Shopping in an effort to raise funds and awareness to support the 4,000 children and young people in South Yorkshire who run away from home each year.

Mark Smith, SAFE@LAST head of operations, described the total as “fantastic” .
