Rotherham swimming pool leak plugged

SWIMMERS have finally returned to the main swimming pool at Rotherham’s flagship leisure centre—almost two months after it sprang a leak.

Repair work has been ongoing at DC Leisure’s St Ann’s complex since the fault was identified in early December.

Users have been forced to use the smaller children’s pool while the repairs—which were originally scheduled to last three weeks—were completed.

Yesterday, the pool re-opened for business for the first time in eight weeks.

Chris Wright, the leisure centre’s general manager, said: “The long process has been difficult for all parties to endure.

“However, we now look forward to returning to the quality service provided in the past.”
