Rotherham road closed over car park incident
POLICE were called out following concerns about a man on top of the multi-storey car park in Wellgate on Monday afternoon.
The road was closed for about an hour before officers were able to take the man to a safe place, a force spokeswoman said.
One witness, who works on Wellgate, said: “It lasted for about an hour. I went on my lunch break and couldn’t get back.
“There were a lot of people trying to get up and down Wellgate but the road was closed to pedestrians and the police were turning all the traffic round.”
