Rotherham College students celebrate graduation

GRADUATES marched from Rotherham College to the minster for a ceremony marking their academic successes.

The university level students wore mortarboards to march through the town centre, led by Yorkshire Regiment drums and bagpipes.

The procession and celebration — now in its fourth year — is becoming a tradition for the college, which is increasing its higher education offer.

Principal and chief executive Gill Alton said: “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm, belief and action.

“You will now embark on the next stage of your journey and I hope the time you have spent with us and the skills and knowledge you've gained will help you pursue highly successful careers and develop the confidence and belief in yourself to pursue your dreams.”

Chair of governors Ken Barrass praised Ms Alton for her continued development of the college’s higher education, including the planned £12 million uni campus at Doncaster Gate.
