Romantic Pete tells Laura: “Owl will always love you”

LOVE really was in the air for delighted Laura Wattam after her bird-loving boyfriend recruited a flying friend to deliver her engagement ring.

Romantic Pete Tingle called on Isaac the Great Grey Owl to help him pop the question and give his his girlfriend a proposal with a difference.

Harry Potter fan Laura was stunned when Pete’s new feathered friend — a dead ringer for the boy wizard’s messenger bird Hedwig — swooped in carrying a little pouch with the ring inside.

The magical match took place at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre in North Anston at the end of the wildlife attraction’s daily Animal and Bird Show.

Laura. from Sheffield said that she had no idea she was going to be proposed to but had said “Yes” and was over the moon.

A wildlife centre spokeswoman said: “Congratulations to Pete and Laura from everyone at the Tropical Butterfly House, Wildlife and Falconry Centre.

“Isaac has since been introduced to a female Great Grey Owl named Betty, and we hope love will blossom between them, too.”
