Rescued swan has fishing hook removed
FIREFIGHTERS helped to rescue a swan with a fishing hook snagged in its bill.
The ensnared bird was spotted on Saturday evening on the River Don, near Rotherham Law Courts in the town centre.
One crew from Aston Park used an inflatable platform to reach the swan, before handing it over to the RSPCA.
It was then taken to a vet, where the hook was safely removed.
An RSPCA spokeswoman could not confirm where or when the swan was released.
