“But feelings of loneliness can be heightened at this time of year. Many individuals can feel a personal sense of loneliness and loss at Christmas. Maybe they are distanced or have lost a loved one; a beloved wife, husband, partner, family member or friend.

“Sadly, not everyone has the opportunity to celebrate as they may wish and they may be feeling more lonely and isolated at this time of year.

“Age UK Rotherham can help give individuals an opportunity to remember a ’loved one’ and celebrate Christmas in a traditional setting, in their own personal way at Rotherham Minster.”

Donated Christmas tree decorations will be placed on the tree at the Minster and celebrated at the Christmas carol service.

Alternatively, people can donate via Just Text Giving by texting AUKR01 plus the amount you wish to donate to 70070.
