ROTHERHAM-based businessman Martin Green hopes he's backed a winner next season after signing a shirt sponsorship deal with his favourite team.

ROTHERHAM-based businessman Martin Green is backing his favourite football team next season after signing a shirt sponsorship deal with his favourite team.

But it’s not the Millers he’s backing . . .  it’s the Blades.

Martin, who lives in Moorgate, Rotherham, runs Redtooth, ihe UK's leading supplier of entertainment to the licensed trade, and the company’s distinctive logo will appear on the Sheffield United’s new away shirt next season. 

And Martin, who was born in Tinsley and is a lifelong Blades fan, says he is delighted to be backing his favourite team.

"We are really pleased to be on board for United's promotion push for next season, coming at a time when we are about to announce another significant venture in pub and club entertainment with two high profile sporting names," he said.

Redtooth, based in Barlborough, runs the UK's largest pub poker league in more than 1,000 venues with 140,000 registered players, which culminates in a national final in Las Vegas where 100 players battle it out to become the UK Pub Poker Champion.

It is the largest supplier of pub quizzes to the UK pub market with more than 3,000 pubs and clubs receiving their weekly quiz from the company.

Martin (48) started it in as Hemlock Promotions in 1999 from an attic at his parents' home in Ferrars Road, Tinsley. It became Redtooth in 2001, taking up premises in Mowbray Street, Sheffield. The late TV star Jeremy Beadle was a director of the business before his death in 2008.
