Punters raise a glass to Rotherham beer festival

The barrels are rolling out in Rotherham as the region’s biggest beer festival kicked off in its new home.

More than 10,000 people are expected to have flocked to Magna by the time the four-day White Rose Real Ale Festival draws to a close on Saturday night.

Festival organiser Steve Burns joined volunteers behind the bars at the Templeborough science centre yesterday as the event got under way.

Punters visiting the town’s biggest party have the chance to taste 250 real ale and dozens of ciders and wines.
