Pub owner remembered as a 'beautiful person' after tragic seaside altercation

A PUB owner who died close to a seaside promenade in Lincolnshire has been remembered as a “beautiful person”.

Gareth Hart (43), from Rotherham, was involved in an “altercation” near an Indian takeaway (Fantasy Grill & Balti) at Ingoldmells on April 6.

Lincolnshire Police said Mr Hart died of his injuries shortly after 12.57am.

A murder investigation was launched shortly after his death on Thursday which led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man on suspicion of murder.

He was later released (on Easter Sunday) with no further action being taken against him, police said.

Joseph Allan Malek (33), of Market Place in Belper, was charged with Mr Hart’s murder on Easter Sunday.

Malek has also been charged with possession of an offensive weapon.

He was remanded into custody and appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on Monday (April 10).

Mr Hart was a director at the Thurnscoe Tap bar on Station Road, according to Companies House.

The bar announced it would temporarily close following the incident on Thursday before it reopened on Saturday.

Customers were thanked for placing flowers of condolence in Mr Hart’s memory.
