£3.4m MyPlace centre opens its doors to young

A NEW multi-million pound flagship centre for young people has officially opened its doors.

The stunning £3.4 million MyPlace centre has been taking shape during recent months on a site next to St Ann’s roundabout in the town centre and offers state-of-the art new facilities for young people from across Rotherham.

The development is part of the national Myplace initiative and has involved a local partnership led by the Chantry YMCA and involving Rotherham Borough Council and other local partners.

The youth hub offers a location for a wide range of integrated services and opportunities for young people.

It includes facilities for youngsters aged 11 to 19, such as a graffiti art room, IT suite, cinema, performance hall and café.

It will also act as a base for agencies to provide a wide range of support and advice directly to young people on issues which affect them.
