£2,000 play equipment stolen

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after children's slides worth £2,000 were stolen from Brinsworth playing field.

Two stainless steel slides were taken along with some other metal work which linked some of the frames together.

A police spokeswoman said: “The local Safer Neighbourhood Team are investigating the incident and think it is likely more than one person carried out the theft.

“They also would have required some sort of cutting tool and possibly a grinder to cut through the bolts and metal as well as a flat bed lorry or truck to move the stolen slides.”
