PREVIEW: Millers could alter formation for Bees test

ROTHERHAM United could revert back to a more familiar 4-4-2 formation as they prepare to host Brentford in today’s Championship clash.

Millers boss Alan Stubbs opted for three central defenders in the midweek 3-0 defeat at Brighton, but admitted that the more defensive structure of the team would not become his first choice setup.

He said: “I think it (three central defenders) will be used as and when, it’s OK being adaptable, but you’ve got to have the right players to be able to do that.

“I went with the three (at Brighton) to try and give us a little bit more solidity with the players I had at my disposal and up until the first goal it seemed to be working ok.

“But goals change games, we had a five minute spell where the game seemed to go away from us.”

Meanwhile, former Miller Emmanuel Ledesma may know whether he has landed a contract at Brentford by 3pm.

The Argentine has ability but showed it only fleetingly at the New York Stadium and his release this summer left him looking for a club.

He had a word with Bees boss Dean Smith, his former gaffer at Walsall, who invited him down to London and Ledesma, now 28, has been grafting since July to try and land a permanent deal.

He explained: “I know the manager and I asked him for help and to let me try here. He said ‘yes you can try, but you need to work hard’.

"He gave me a little chance and now I want to get that important bonus which for me is that contract.

"I know I didn't play a lot over the last couple of years but that's about other problems. I'm not far away with fitness. I'm just working hard and waiting for the decision."
