Popular Rotherham businessman dies
Roland Bricknell passed away on Tuesday morning, aged 92, surrounded by his family.
His health had been in decline since he suffered a stroke five years ago.

Hide AdMr Bricknell was best known for founding estate agent Bricknells Rentals, now located at Wellgate.
Son-in-law Paul Harris (50) said: “I used to go into restaurants with Roland quite frequently and it seemed that no-one would let him pay for his meal.
“They were so grateful for all the work that he had done on behalf of local businesses.”
He added: “Roland was very intelligent and a wonderful family man. He will be very fondly remembered and very sorely missed.”

Hide AdDawn Holmes, managing director of Bricknells Rentals, said: “Mr Bricknell was well respected within the business community in Rotherham, known for his integrity and professionalism.”
She added: “We are immensely proud to trade under the Bricknell name. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.”
Mr Bricknell was also an avid amateur golfer and a well-known member of both Rotherham and Filey Golf Clubs.
He played three times each week until the age of 86, when he suffered a stroke.

Hide AdFellow Filey golfer Les Moxon said: “Roland was a stalwart of Filey Golf Club and will be sadly missed by all.”
Mr Bricknell leaves three daughters and seven grandchildren. His funeral is today in Filey.
