Some council libraries closed and all bin collections suspended due to heavy snow

SOME Rotherham Council libraries will not open today due to the heavy snowfall, while bin collections are currently delayed. 

Aston, Kimberworth, Kiveton, Rawmarsh, Thurcroft, and Thorpe Hesley libraries are all shut today. 

Bin collections are currently suspended due to the adverse weather conditions, with the council advising people to leave bins by the kerbside for collection “ASAP”. 

A spokesperson for RMBC said: “Weather permitting, we’ll be working hard to complete today’s scheduled collections in the coming days. 

“We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.”
