Mexborough man denies murder
A MURDER trial involving a Mexborough man has started in Sheffield.
John Sowden (44), of Elm Road, is charged with the murder of Christopher Rooney (48) whose body was found in a house on Auckland Road last September.
Sowden denies murder but admitted manslaughter at the trial at Sheffield Crown Court.
A post mortem found that Mr Rooney died from multiple injuries to his head and body.
The trial continues.
