'Despicable' burglar jailed for six years
Jonathan Paul Penistone (32) had initially left the 73-year-old’s home when she challenged him for walking in uninvited.
He then sneaked in through a back door to steal a number of items after she went to report the matter to a neighbour, Sheffield Crown Court heard.

Hide AdPenistone, of Roman Crescent in Brinsworth, admitted burgling the home in nearby Brinsford Road in September. He was sentenced on Friday.
PC Martin Stenson said: “This is a significant jail term for someone who targeted an elderly woman for financial gain.
“The victim was particularly vulnerable as she is unwell and unable to speak. This makes Penistone’s actions even more despicable and I am pleased he accepted responsibility for his crime.
“This burglary shocked residents and I hope that both the victim and the wider community are reassured by the swift action taken.
“Penistone is now behind bars for a number of years and their community is safer as a result.”
