Police seek owner of two dogs that mauled a five-year-old dog to death

AN IRRESPONSIBLE owner allowed his dogs to maul another pooch to death in a devastating attack.

Police said a woman was walking her dog between Maltby and Braithwell at 6.40am on Sunday when the five-year-old, called Tadi (right), was killed by two black lurcher-bulldog cross breeds.

The two dogs were not on a lead, police confirmed, and the injured dog died from a result of his injuries.

The attacking dogs’ owner was said to have left the scene with his pets without giving the injured animal’s keeper his contact details.

The man, who also had a cream puppy with him, is described as white, aged between 35 and 45, with dark hair and of medium build.

Police said they wanted to speak to him regarding the incident.

Anyone with more information should call 101, quoting crime number 181 of April 17.

Meanwhile, a dog was seized after a woman was reportedly bitten in a Broom street.

Police were called after reports of a dog on the loose on Oakwood Drive at 4.30pm last Wednesday.

The dog, described as a bull breed, was alleged to have caused minor injury to the woman’s leg, a police spokesperson said.

They added: “The dog was seized by officers and enquiries to locate the owner are ongoing.”
