Police helicopter joins hunt for missing pensioner

POLICE officers searching for missing 82-year-old Brinsworth man Ernest Lancaster are now “extremely concerned” for his safety and welfare.

The force helicopter has joined in the search as inquiries continue to establish where the pensioner went after leaving his home address at Alric Drive, Brinsworth, Rotherham, at around 4pm last Saturday.

Extensive searches of a number of possible routes and areas he visits have already been carried out, but as yet there have been no sightings of him to confirm his whereabouts.

Officers are still reviewing CCTV and search areas along the routes Ernest may have taken.

Police are asking members of the public to contact them immediately if they have seen Ernest anytime after 4pm on Saturday. Call 101 and quote reference: CX/2259/2012.
