Police chiefs launch personalised crime-tracking service

POLICE chiefs have announced a new tracking service for crime victims in South Yorkshire.

TrackMyCrime will allow victims to log in through a computer, tablet or smartphone and access information on the progress of police investigations.

The service will be updated by officers when arrests are made or property recovered.

The launch was announced by Shaun Wright, Police and Crime Commissioner, at a press conference this morning (Monday).

He was joined by Assistant Chief Con Jo Byrne and Temporary Supt Scott Green.

TrackMyCrime is already being operated by Avon and Somerset Constabulary, with a trial now ongoing in Doncaster.

It is due to be launched across South Yorkshire on April 7. See this week's Advertiser for more information.
