Poker stars bidding for Vegas victory

A PAIR of pub poker stars are eyeing the bright lights of Las Vegas as they prepare to play for the biggest prize pot of their lives.

Pub landlord Ian Quinn and welder Daniel White will jet out to America next month to take on 98 other hopefuls for the Redtooth Vegas 100 title - with a £12,000 prize pool and a £10,000 sponsorship deal up for grabs - after getting through a tough qualifying process.

They will also play off just hours after landing for a spot in the $5 million, 24,000-player World Series of Poker.

Dad of three Daniel will be accompanied on the trip - which he called “a dream come true” - by wife Claire and the landlord of the Anchor Inn in Clowne, where he plays poker twice a week.

Ian, who runs the Alpine in Rockingham, said he too couldn’t wait to swap South Yorkshire for the States.
