Plea for Dinnington VE Day memories

MEMORIES of VE Day are being sought to share at a heritage event later this year.

St Leonard’s Church in Dinnington wants photographs or stories of the big day in 1945.

The heritage day will be on September 12 and its theme is VE Day.

Churchwarden Caren Turner said: “We are looking for photos or memories of VE Day and the days leading up to and just after of people living in the Dinnington area.

“Photos would of course be copied and the originals returned.

“Stories could be told to someone and then either written up or maybe recorded so we can have them playing during the day.”
