PICTURE GALLERY: Cosplay Con at Magna

JEDIS, vampires, superheroes and steam punks all descended on Rotherham over the Easter weekend for a unique convention.

The Yorkshire Cosplay Con is a family-friendly event that combines costume play — AKA “cosplay” — with a comic convention.

Around 5,000 people donned their most outlandish outfits and rubbed shoulders with anime, sci-fi, video game and You Tube heroes at Magna on Saturday.

Founder Kitty Furniss (24), of Thurnscoe, said the record attendance was incredible, adding: “To be bringing this kind of event to Yorkshire is amazing.

“This is the biggest geek gathering of its kind.”
