Santas ready to run

CHRISTMAS will come early to Rotherham this year as dozens of Santa Clauses are set to make an appearance in the town centre.

Rotherham Hospice is holding its second sponsored Santa Dash in the town on Saturday, November 26 from 11am.

The Santa Dash is a sponsored one-mile run or walk around the town centre and is open to people of all ages, with those taking part dressing up as Santa for the day.

The Christmas spirit will be on show even earlier when hospice fund-raisers launch this year’s event with a fun day in All Saints’ Square from 11am next Saturday .

Stalls around the square will include those where you can buy Rotherham Hospice Christmas cards and calendars, as well as hospice merchandise—and organisers said that there may even an appearance by Santa himself.

Meanwhile, Rotherham Hospice is encouraging fashion-conscious folk to update their wardrobes and raise cash for a good cause with a Christmas Swish and Style Evening at the Carlton Park Hotel in Moorgate Road on Thursday, November 3 from 7pm.

Those attending will be invited bring up to three good quality items of clothing or accessories to swap.

Tickets priced £8 and including canapes and a welcome drink, can be booked in advance on 01709 308917.
